wondering with lillies

silently building each petal

trying to bring symmetry

resembling but not resembling

standing apart yet binding

are they pretending?

water swallowing the pretense

sky reflecting the difference

earth defending the difference

it's just happening

  4. Like Resemary says.. it's close to being understandable.. I love the quote you brought in from Gertrude Stein.. subtle and gave it a new meaning.

  6. Sometimes witnessing what happens means more than picking the petals apart and asking how and why...certainly that's where beauty lies

  7. All that was missing was a conversation with the flowers, asking them what they thought about football, sex, education for girls, Sarah Palin, butterscotch pudding, & tumbleweeds; nice job.

  14. "standing apart yet binding"
I think of "each different, yet united"
I liked that one line a lot.
