Not knowing destination
I traveled, excited every time
I waited eagerly to meet new people
Hoping I will find happiness
Relationship happened and got over
Each one left with sour and sweet memory
I waited eagerly for the next relationship
Hoping I will find happiness
Children came with abundant joy
Full filling me momentarily
I waited eagerly to see their achievements
Hoping I will find happiness
I met many teachers with overflowing knowledge
Reading the scriptures they talked about
I soaked myself in them
Hoping I will find happiness
Wisdom came knocking on my door
Guiding me to seek deep inside
Serenity replaced my eagerness
Home is where there is happiness
sometimes the greatest journey you can take in the one back inside you.....trying to find happiness outside yourself is always so fleeting...because when it goes away, what are you left with...
ReplyDeleteThat was a fast one..thanks Brian..:)
ReplyDeleteHome and in yourself is where you will find your goals.. but I guess that without the treasures gathered you would not know your home....
ReplyDeleteit's good to find that happiness within us and not outside cause people will come and go and all travels come to an end... but what is independent of what surrounds us will stay...
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like home...and nothing like bisi bisi anna-saru after you come back from a trip.
ReplyDeleteto know and accept oneself - very hard to do
ReplyDeleteWisdom...serenity...happiness. I love how you have used the refrain here, makes the revelation of the last stanza that much sweeter.
ReplyDeleteAh...this poem is graced with wisdom....nothing can make one happy until one is contented within...beautiful lines Arathi :)
ReplyDeleteI like the message in this poem. Happiness is not found outside oneself, but comes from how a person feels inside.
