Mysore Palace...is synonymous with everyone who stays in this city called Mysore. Coming from this town the Palace has been a integral part of my life. I am blessed to be born in this city and it I can't think of being in any other place...I love my city for all it's glory and I am very proud of my city...I recommend everyone to visit this city once and enjoy it's hospitality..

standing in the heart of the city

the majestic Palace pulls everyone to see it's splendor

with it's grandeur mesmerizing people

they all come from different parts of the world

only to stand in awe and bow to it's beauty

the king's golden throne

the enchanting hall where the king would hold his court

it's hidden charms call out

making all fall in love ...

  4. How lovely that you keyed into the beauty & enchantment of the palace; growing up near it, some people would just not regard it so highly, like those who live near the Taj Mahal; just fleece the tourists, make a buck, mantra for most.

Yes Brain the whole palace is illuminated ...actually the illumination for the entire palace was done I think in early 70's....Because when we were kids weekend outing was to go there and to see it lit...the whole crowd would exclaim and a collective sigh would come ..you know ..also this city was capital for a huge Kingdom where very poweful Kings ruled ..it is full of heritage and culture...and it kind of seeps inside people who are part of this city...you can google and see the history of mysore ..

  11. Funny that the place is called Mysore, yet it's so beautiful. In English, Mysore sounds a lot like eye sore. Lovely poem.
